Every Friday I suggest a wine that is rated 90 points or higher and costs less than $20.

Admittedly, I am no Miles. I can’t tell you about the soupcon of asparagus, the flutter of cheese or the blackberry undertones in a wine. But I can tell you what I like. I should also warn you that I have a bias towards reds.

This week’s wine is Four Vines 2006 Old Vine Cuvee Zinfandel California ($11.99 at BEVMO). This is probably not a great wine for those who tend to like whites or who are new to wine. But for all you red lovers out there, this is a great, strong and spicy wine that goes straight to your nose. This wine is best enjoyed on its own, rather than with dinner.

Cheers!
